About Balladeer

Artist Created

My name is Adam Roth and I’m the founder of Balladeer Coffee.

As an artist, I’ve spent over a decade touring the world and releasing music with my band Grizfolk. As a songwriter, I’ve written countless songs with other artists and musical collaborators.

Reflecting on my interactions with other creators over the years, a common theme emerges: most artists are struggling.

The music industry, largely sustained by the efforts of these individuals, often fails to adequately reward artists unless they achieve viral success. In today’s digital world, most artists I speak with are frustrated with social media algorithms, finding it increasingly difficult to penetrate the saturated online environment.

Knowing that most artists are under compensated, overburdened and frustrated with the music industry, for a long time I’ve wondered how I can make a difference in my community.

It wasn’t until I started working on my passion project of creating a coffee brand that a light bulb went off: I realized that coffee was a common thread among artists. Whether it’s meeting for a cup of coffee to discuss big dreams, drinking coffee at a writing session or late night in the studio, coffee provides the perfect medium for connection.

Balladeer Coffee was born from my admiration for artists and songwriters who tirelessly devote themselves to their art, despite the odds being stacked against them.

Beyond giving a profit share to the artists we feature, my hope is that Balladeer Coffee will spark and continue the conversation of ways that you, the listener and music connoisseur, can support your favorite artists in ways that help them thrive well into the future.
